Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. Breath of fresh air. Happy, organic, authentic music with a full, poly-rhythmic, soulful, folk sound.
El Guincho – The Animal Collective of Spain…interesting and entertaining to say the least.
Blakroc -The Black Keys + Mos Def, RZA, Pharoahe Monche…and every other Brookyn MC, playing raw indie blues rock hip-hop. I try not to think about it too much because I can’t even find a leaked version yet to listen to it.
London Souls – My roomie Arthur told me to come check them out at Brooklyn Bowl and HAD NO CLUE what I was going to get myself into. The only way to describe it: Jimi Hendrix Experience of the 21st Century.
Trent Dabbs – Met him randomly in Philly last Sunday at World Cafe Live with my friend Jordan and he gave us a CD. Neither of us knew how amazing he would be because he stands out in a sea of boring and cliche singer-songwriters. Check out “Your side now”
