It’s been a couple months, but it’s back….5 New Bands!!! Expect another post next Monday after my week of music in Austin for SXSW.
Dawes — They kind of remind me an inferior West Coast Dr. Dog with the pace of older Warren Zevon.
The Ruby Suns — Experimental electronic pop akin to Panda Bear, but it’s a lot cleaner sounding. I’m pumped to see them next Friday at Brooklyn Bowl.
Jounce – Raw rock music similar to Band of Skulls and older Kings of Leon (featuring Danny Tamberelli from Pete & Pete!!!!)
Nneka – African soul hip-hop via Germany
Cougar – My buddy Jon did a remix of their song “Rhinelander” and I HAD to check out the original. It’s a genre of its own that I can only call post-rock trip-hop.
